Rated 5 out of 5 by RemE from We like it! I replaced a 5 stage system with a 10 gal storage tank in prep for a kitchen remode, the space savings are huge! The install was very easy, I added a calcium carbonate cartridge and Tee to fridge. We find the pump noise level to be very quiet on ours. Water flow rate is slightly lower than the previous system but totally adequate. Overall the family approves, taste and function are great. It's claimed that this system will waste much less water, I'll be monitoring that in the months ahead. Overall, I love the unit, easy to install and maintain. I previously used a service company but cancelled them moving forward. APEC, I'm a fan.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dan Short from Louder than expected, difficult return process I purchased two of these units to replace our existing APEC three stage RO filters with reservoir tanks. I was hoping to have a simpler system, and save space under the cabinets for the two sinks in our kitchen. The unit was well-built, the installation was super easy, but the pump was far noisier than expected. After installation, and with the cabinet door closed, any time the tap was opened the pump was operating at around 60 decibels. This was loud enough to hear from the next room. The manual specifically stated that the pump would get quieter after the initial filter flush, but this didn't happen. The pump remained at that same level any time the tap was open.I contacted support and was told this was normal, even though the manual specifically states that it is not. I returned one unit unopened, and the other was put back in its original packaging. Unfortunately, I'm going to incur a restocking fee for both, and I had to pay over $100 to ship them both back, even though by definition of the documentation they aren't working to spec.My suggestion would be for APEC to expcitly list on their product description how loud the pump is on the device. If I had know they were going to operate at 60 decibels I would have never ordered them and would have saved myself time, aggravation, and money on a failed experiment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Oliver99 from No more water bottles Apec really went above and beyond with this unit. High quality components, quiet operation, easy filter replacement, clog free flow restrictor (clogging can be a problem with tankless systems) great taste superior to many water bottles and easy install. Additionally I added a Waterdrop UV light ( because of it’s automatic turn on feature ) and mineral filter to get the minerals back in. One downside of tankless is waiting for the TDS to go down but this is probably the fastest competitor on the market. After 8 hours without use it only takes about 10 seconds stabilize. I installed the drain saddle on my sink instead because I don’t like the idea of having any filter hose mixed with my sink’s drain water . My tap water reads 180 ppm and the filter brings it down to 14 with minerals. The only thing I wish it had was a tds display faucet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JimP from Long Term Questonable Bought this unit hoping it would be easy to install and easy to maintain long term. For me, not easy to install; had to get a plumber. Before I even flushed the system, had reduced 454ppm to 45ppm. Long term, I have to get a mirror to see the status light. I certainly hope the replacement cost of filter is not $200 but APEC should have it listed so buyers know. Not sure I would buy this unit from APEC again knowing all I know now.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Beeman1 from Not the usual above par product. This water filter is not really what I had expected. Well it does perform well, I just wish it would operate without electricity. If there is a power failure I have no access to filtered water. That could be a problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Drew2 from ROTL-AIO I replaced my RO-90 with the new ROTL-AIO. The new unit frees up a lot of under-the-counter-space. Nevertheless, it does not perform as well in filtering our water as the RO-90 did. The first water from the tap tests at 150 ppm. After running for thirty seconds, it will test at 30-35 ppm. When I disconnected the RO-90, the water tested at 22 ppm--on tired filters. With fresh filters, water samples test in the low teens. For reference, our Colorado river water test typically between 450 and 500 ppm, depending upon the season. I do like the faucet better on the R0-90. The extra inch-and-a-half in height made it easier to fill up my large pasta pot from the counter. The ROTL filter seems easy to install and remove, and much less messy that on the RO-90. The installation instructions are not very clear at several points. I'm glad I had experience installing an Ro-90. I am generally very impressed with APEC products. They seem well engineered and manufactured--well thought out from the consumer's perspective. The ROTL does not quite live up to these standards
