Some ways to prevent kidney infections are:

  • Drink plenty of water – This flushes the body of toxins which keep the kidney healthy
  • Urinate after intercourse – This flushes the urethra and removes any bacteria
  • Avoid feminine hygiene sprays – Do not use scented wipes or sprays in genital area

Fungal Infections

Moist environments can be the cause of fungal infections, like athlete's foot. However, also using water to soak the feet can help reduce itching and swelling. For more severe cases topical antifungal medication can be applied. Some fungi reproduce in the air as tiny spores. These air spores can be inhaled through the air or land on you. As a result, most fungal infections are contracted through the lungs or skin. You are also more likely to get a fungal infection if you have a weakened immune system or are taking antibiotics.

Respiratory Infections

Respiratory viral infections can be sometimes mistaken for the common cold. Drinking water when having one of these infections can really help here because dehydration is very common. Rapid breathing, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever can all cause water loss. Liver infection, or hepatitis A, is a viral infection. Keeping the body well-hydrated here is very important, especially when there has been vomiting. Also, sports drinks can help replace essential electrolytes that are lost through vomiting.

Many infections are very contagious, so washing hands with warm water and soap is very significant. Applying soap and scrub for a sufficient duration is a very effective way to keep your hands clean. The easiest way to avoid all of these infections is to prevent them from occurring. You can defend against infections by boosting your immune system, which can be done through eating healthy, exercising, and drinking plenty of water. Even a change in your attitude can influence your daily habits and motivate you to take that extra step to a healthy lifestyle. It is important to maintain the health of your body, it’s the only one we have!
