Tank is not filling on RO-45 or RO-90

If the tank is not filling on your RO-45 or RO-90, clogged filters or components can be the factor. Please follow the flow rate test below:

Test # 1

  • Turn off the feed water line to the system.
  • Grab an empty bucket or container to catch the water coming out from the tubing.
  • Disconnect the Red Tubing at Point D.
  • Turn on your feed water line.
  • Does water come out strong from the red tubing?

Test #2

  • If water does not come out strong at Point D, turn off the feed water line again. If water does come out strong at Point D, please proceed below.
  • Disconnect the Red tubing at C1.
  • Does water come out strong from the Red tubing?

Test #3

  • If water comes out strong from the red tubing at Point D. Turn off the tank, by turning the Blue Cap on the tank ball valve 90 degrees.
  • Disconnect the yellow tubing connected into the tank.
  • Make sure the feed water is on.
  • Does water trickle out of the yellow tubing? If so, fast trickle, or 1 drop ever few seconds?

Flow rate test result:

The flow rate from Point A, Point B, C1,C2 and Point D should all be identical. If you are unsure if the flow rate is normal from Point D and C1, please disconnect the feed water line at Point A to compare.

  • If water does not come out strong at Point D on Test #1, the Pre Filters or ASO (automatic shutoff) valve maybe clogged.
  • If water does not come out strong at C1 on Test #2, the Pre Filters are clogged and needs to be replaced.
  • If water comes out strong at Point D on Test #3, but you only get 1 drop every few seconds or No flow at all at the yellow tubing, the Membrane is depleted and needs to be replaced.
  • If you get Very Little to No water to C1, then the pre-filters are clogged.  However, the ASO valve can be clogged as well. To make sure the ASO valve is not clogged, remove all three filter housings and re-attach the filter housings to the RO unit without any pre-filters. Open the pure water line and make sure you have strong flow to Point D. This will let you know if both the Pre Filters and ASO are clogged or just one of the two.
  • Please remember to re-attach all 3 tubing connection after test is done.
