How to Add a Lead-Reduction Carbon (FI-PB1) Filter To Your R.O. System

The Lead-Reduction Carbon filter (FI-PB1) is recommended to be added to your R.O. system as a Stage-6 Specialty Filter.  Add this filter between the Stage-5 filter and the dispensing faucet as shown in the Diagram below.

Some extra ¼” tubing are provided in case you need to make a longer connection.

  • Step 1:  Put the filter cartridge into the Housing (remove cartridge wrapping). Close the housing cap tightly.
  • Step 2:  Connect the FI-PB1 filter as follows:

See Diagram:

  • Between points C and Z is the pure water output line which originally connects the stage-5 filter to the RO faucet.   Cut this water line in half, and add the FI-PB1 filter to the line (shown as Specialty Filter Housing).
  • This water line should now go from point C to the “In” port of the new filter housing, and go from the “Out” port of the housing to point Z.  This way the filtered water will flow through Stage-5 filter, then to the FI-PB1 filter, then to the dispensing faucet.
  • Please make sure the output line is connected to the housing ports correctly à so water flows into the “In port” and flows out of the “Out port”.

Note:    The fittings on the In and Out ports of the housing are the Quick-Connect type fittings.  To connect, simply push the tubing into the fitting tightly.   To disconnect, hold down on the “collet” ring at the base of the fitting, and pull out the tubing.
