Calcite & Magnesium Water Neutralizer FilterAPEC FI-PHMAX-QC Cartridge contains a 50/50 mix of Calcite and Corosex/Magnesium. Calcite is a crushed and screened white marble media, which can be used to neutralize acidic or low pH waters to a neutral, less corrosive effluent. Magnesium is a specially processed hard, bead like magnesia, adapted for use in filters to neutralize acidity by increasing the pH value.

Test Your Water After Installing This
I tested the water after installing this filter. It showed an off the chart value of Cyanuric Acid and Carbonate Root. I used a highly reviewed water test kit bought off of Amazon that tested for 16 different parameters. The test could've been wrong, but all the other values were right on. I returned this item and received a full refund.

Does not work
Water tests at a PH of 5 coming out of my RO holding tank. After running through this filter it remains unchanged. I use both calcite and corosex to treat my acidic well water with excellent results. Sadly I can’t say the same for this filter.

Gets the job done.....
This water filter brought my water to a 9 on the ph scale.
