The Best
Ceramic Filter In the World- Ceramic Extruded Carbon Block
The µall-carbon” CERAMIKX® filter combines the fine particulate reduction
of a traditional ceramic filter with the chlorine, taste and odor reduction
of activated carbon. With 99.9996% reduction of E. coli, the 0.2 µm CERAMIKX®
filter meets NSF Standard 53 criteria for particulate removal and turbidity
reduction, and the control of cysts, including Cryptosporidium and Giardia.
CERAMIKX® filters also meet NSF Standard 42 for chlorine @ 95% reduction
of free chlorine for up to >2,000 gallons.
This filter
has 2.50” O.D. with standard end caps designed to fit most standard 10”
housings. These filters can easily be cleaned with µjust the wipe of a
sponge.”
CERAMIKX® filters are finished with polypropylene end caps designed to
accommodate most standard housings.
CERAMIKX® filters are manufactured using MATRIKX® extruded activated carbon
particles fused into a uniform block with enhanced adsorptive capacity
and efficiency. CERAMIKX® filters flow in a radial (outside-to-inside)
direction, providing increased dirt capacity and low pressure drop. Unlike
granular activated carbon (GAC) filters, CERAMIKX® cartridges will not
channel or bypass, due to the extreme uniformity of their extruded activated
carbon core.
- No channeling
- No fluidizing
- No bypassing
- Eliminates
release of carbon fines
- Lowest
extractables, pure materials of construction
- Maximum
service life and resistance to fouling
- Fully
cleanable
- Manufactured
using FDA-compliant materials
Chlorine capacity is the estimated capacity in gallons during which the
filter will remove > 95% of influent free available chlorine (2 ppm)
when operated at a given flow and has been tested using the NSF Standard
42 protocol for chlorine reduction.
Nominal
particulate rating (0.2µm) is for >85% of a given size as determined
from single-pass particle counting results.*
Absolute
particulate rating (0.5µm ) is for >99.9% of particles of a given size
as determined from single-pass particle counting results.**
*Nominal
Filter Rating: Filter rating indicating the approximate size particle,
the majority of which will not pass through the filter. It is generally
interpreted as meaning that 85% of the particles of the size equal to
the nominal micron rating will be retained by the filter. (WQA Glossary
of Terms, Third Edition, 3-97).
**Absolute
Filter Rating: Filter rating meaning that 99.9% (or essentially all) of
the particles larger than a specific micron rating will be trapped on
or within the filter. (WQA Glossary of Terms, Third Edition, 3-97)
The CERAMIKX®
filter has been tested to meet the material requirements of NSF Standard
42.
The CERAMIKX
filter has been tested to meet the performance requirements of NSF Standard
42 for Class 1 Chlorine Reduction and Standard 53 for Class 1 Turbidity
and Cyst Reduction.

MATRIKX®
filters are not to be autoclaved or steam sterilized.
Use MATRIKX®
carbon filters only with microbiologically safe and adequately disenfected
water. Activated carbon filters are not designed to kill or remove viruses.
Actual results
obtained will vary with various combinations of organic contaminants,
changes in pH or other conditions encountered in actual use.
All information
presented here is based on data believed to be reliable. It is offered
for evaluation and verification, but is not to be considered a warranty
of any kind.
MATRIKX®
filters are designed to fit most standard household and commercial or
industrial housings.
This cartridge
must be placed in an appropriate housing and flushed for a minimum of
5 minutes prior to use. Use only with microbiologically safe and adequately
disinfected water.
