Protecting You from Bacteria with Whole House UV Treatment

Water quality studies commonly find that between 20 and 40 percent of wells in any given area are contaminated with E. coli, Cryptosporidium, or coli form bacteria. These microorganism can cause widespread illness or gastrointestinal complications commonly known as beaver-fever. Unfortunately, most people don’t take precautions until they’ve experienced a bad water test. And then, the typical response is to simply pour chlorine bleach into their well. However, chemicals can produce carcinogenic by-products and affect the taste and odor of your water.
Township and city-managed water supplies aren't failsafe, either. Boil water advisories are becoming more common. Beyond the inconvenience they cause, such advisories are a clear warning that the clean water we've taken for granted is becoming a scarce resource.
Whole House UV Treatment - The Proven Way to Safeguard Your Water
UV disinfection is a natural process that adds no chemicals to your water. The germicidal energy of ultraviolet light destroys illness-causing microorganisms by attacking their genetic core (DNA). This powerful dose of UV light (wavelength of 253.7 nanometers) eliminates their ability to reproduce, and the organisms simply die.
Water is purified by running it through a watertight chamber that contains an ultraviolet lamp. As water flows past, microorganisms are exposed to a lethal dose of germicidal UV energy. Disinfecting your water with ultraviolet light is exceptionally effective and environmentally safe. The UV does not change the taste, color, or odor of water. It is well proven, and it is the way of the future for water disinfection.

High
Performance System Components
| High Output UV Lamp |
The UV light is generated from a low-pressure, high-output lamp that transmit a high intensity of UV light, making it possible to treat a large volume of water efficiently. |
| Unique Water Chamber Design |
Designed by computer simulation and validated by bioassay testing, the water chamber maximizes exposure to the penetrating light. The stainless steel material is highly resistant to corrosion. |
| Unique Lamp & Sleeve Assembly |
Lamps and sleeves are assembled together for ease of handling. They can be replaced separately in minutes without using any tools. |
| New Power Supply Technology |
Built to withstand fluctuations in voltage while maintaining lamp intensity to ensure continuous disinfection. |
| Lamp Operation Indicator |
Indicator lights to confirm that each system component is in proper operation. Warning lights appear when system maintenance is required. |
| Lamp Service Time Display |
The lamp timer display starts at 365 and counts down the days to annual lamp replacement. At any time, you can see how many months the lamp has been in use. |
| Lamp Time Reset Button |
Simply press the button to reset the lamp timer during annual lamp changes and replacement. |
| Failure Alarm |
Incorporates visual and audio signals to help remind you when to replace the lamp or if the lamp ever fail. The system will automatically sound an alarm. |
| Mute Button |
If a warning alarm sounds, simply press the button to silence the alarm. |
| Safety Cap & Special Lamp Plug |
The safety cap prevents children from accessing the lamp or electrical components. The special lamp plug ensures that no one can power the UV lamp if it’s not in the UV chamber. |
| Reference card |
The reference card outlines the most important system functions and maintenance for your quick, on-the-spot solutions. |

TIPS
ON CHOOSING A SYSTEM: To
assure your highest satisfaction, please choose the right size (gpm) of the
UV system that matches your household peak demand flow rate. This is simply a measure of how much water can flow through your main water line if all the water outlets were opened at once. A typical North American house might have a maximum flow rate of 7 GPM (26 LPM), while a larger home might reach 15 GPM (56 LPM) or more. You may also determine the flow rate you need based on the number of bathrooms in your home.

Required
Operating Conditions:
- Operating Pressure: 4 - 125 psi.
- Ambient Air Temperature: 32 - 122 °F
- Max. Humidity: 100%
- Max. Hardness: 120 ppm
- Max. Iron: 0.3 ppm
- Min. UVT: 75%
- Installation Position: Vertical or Horizontal
NOTE: A 5 micron (nominal) sediment filter must be installed before the UV system and after any water softening equipment. If the UV transmittance (UVT) is less than 75% after the pre-treatment, activated carbon filtration may be desirable to improve UV transmittance. In addition, we suggest installing the unit indoor or at room temperature only.
